A Waist Cloth (Sabaiya)

These cloths were to be found in sea-trading routes, from Oman, where they were made, to ports in India and Pakistan as well as East Africa  (Mombasa, Zanzibar ) . The Omani’s subsequently introduced the pit-loom to East Africa and most of the cloths were woven there as well as imported directly from Arabia and India.
